SWAN is currently running (and will be for a couple weeks) the month long simulation for the October at NCEX.

While thats going I'm coming back to the group forced vortices stuff. One of the unresolved issues is that the spectra we used for the ICCE simulations had short-crested wave time series and when we constructed the time series using a density function (via Van Dongeren et al. ) thing were not as short-crested. Why is this? Even if we chose EVERY freg-dir component from the spectrum rather than just some around the peak it should be close because the when we use all of them the ones away from the peak should be weighted very low because they have little to no energy at that component. Here's the wave envelope at he offshore alongshore transect generated from the two methods. Right now I'm trying to look through the codes.

Regardless our conclusions do not change.
