More Vortex Time Scales

I went back and looked again. Before I was using the low-passed vorticty to choose/evaluate the vorticity like we talked about in the meeting. But I went back and looked at the actual vorticity and realized that the vortex dynamics and particularly their lifespan is much different. Likely because they aren't 'smeared' in time by the running average?

Anyway I picked one quick vortex and tracked it until it disappeared. Although another one formed there shortly after I did not count it. Here's the results. I was looking into what 'forcing' to compare with the enstrophy (in the interior of the vortex) so there are three options in the top subplot. The mean dH/dy seems to do pretty well. There is a small time shift but thats not too suprising considering the transfer of momentum isnt instantaneous.
